Attendance is not only vital for students to achieve their full potential but it is also a legal requirement. The key leaders will review attendance on a daily basis so that absence can be followed up and support can be put in place in order to improve attendance. In addition, the Education Welfare Service regularly checks the attendance of all students and will engage early with parents/carers of children who are persistently absent from education. Student Support Officers from the pastoral team will make contact with the student and parent /carer for any absence.
All students will have half termly review meetings with a member of the MALP team. This will ensure that progress is being made in all settings and will allow individual student targets to be agreed and reviewed, enabling a quick and suitable response to any issue. You will be kept informed about progress and will be involved in all review discussions.
All students will be provided with transport to and from Diamond House. A minibus will collect all students from the Academy gates at 8.40am and return to the same point at 2.30pm. In exceptional circumstances a taxi may be arranged.
Food During The Day
The students will have access to a sandwich service from the Academy. Orders will be taken the day before and then food delivered to the minibus for distribution that morning. Free school meal arrangements will still apply in the off-site setting. Hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the day.
