Visitors to our websites

When someone visits an e4education website we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. We collect this information in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting any of our websites. We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through any of our websites, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

If you complete any forms on any of our websites, for example a contact form, we will process the information on behalf of the school. The information submitted will be transmitted to a contact within the school by email, stored in a secure database or both.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Use of cookies on e4education websites

A cookie is a small file saved to a users device when the user accesses certain websites. These cookies can then be read when a user moves around the site and each subsequent time the user visits the site, depending on the type of cookie used. Cookies are useful as they can allow a website to store information about a user, such as whether they are logged into a website or for analytical purposes to track visits to a website.

On the 25th May 2011 the UK introduced an amendment to the "Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations". The amendment covers the use of cookies and similar technologies for storing information and accessing information stored on a user's equipment, such as their computer or mobile phone.

If we need, or would like, to use a cookie that is not included in the exceptions allowed under the regulation stated above we will ask your permission before doing so. Rejecting some cookies could render parts of the site unusable, in this instance we will inform you.

Some cookies that we use are exempted from the regulation stated above and we do not ask permission before adding these to your device. These cookies are used for the purpose of maintaining choices you have made. For example whether to hide or show an element of the website such as the slideshow. We will also use cookies when you log into one of our websites, this allows us to remember that you have logged in when you move around the website.
