Students are working on a STEM challenge mini project.
The Atrium and the ‘Street’ in the Business and Enterprise Centre became the venue for students to test their solutions to a STEM challenge mini project that they have been working on over the last few weeks in Design Technology, Science and Maths.
They have been tasked with designing a solution to dropping cargo from height mimicking an aircraft cargo drop. Each of the subject areas has tackled an aspect of the problem (design and make, crosswind effect and costing).
They were testing the solutions using humanitarian aid (rice & pasta!) – see the pictures here.
