Three students have represented Maltby Academy at the unveiling of a memorial stone on Limekiln Lane.
The memorial service was to commemorate the lives of the 27 miners who perished in the 1923 explosion in Maltby colliery. The event was attended by the Earl of Scarbrough who unveiled the stone. The students - Gen Shaw, Charlie Walker and Bailey Kirk (pictured below with MA Governor Mr Fletcher) also had the opportunity to lay wreaths at the stone. It was a fantastic occasion recognising the heritage of mining in Maltby.
