Students visit Berlin.
Year 10 and 11 GCSE History students have visited Berlin to embed their learning of Germany from the Rise of Hitler through WW2 to The Cold War and the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. The trip included visited various buildings and landmarks inclcuding the Sachenhausen concentration camp, the German Parliament, the Reichstag Building, the Olympic Stadium (host of the 1936 Olympics and 2006 World cup) and Checkpoint Charlie and sections of the Berlin wall that are still standing . They also visited other major iconic landmarks like The Brandenburg Gate, Potsdammer Platz and the Jewish memorial. Students were outstanding in every respect, a real credit to the Academy, their community and country.
