The Academy at the heart of the Maltby Learning Community aims to develop and deliver an innovative and inspiring education to all students. Our vision is built around a collective commitment to developing an outstanding 0-19 and beyond learning experience that meets the needs of all learners, addressing areas of underachievement and provides opportunities for all members of the Maltby Community. The ambition is for all learners in the Maltby Learning Community to be ‘qualified' to confidently enter the world of work, not only with the necessary qualifications to succeed but also with an excellent understanding of how to apply themselves in work and life, improving their own life opportunities whilst also making a positive contribution to the community and the economy. The Learning Community will use cutting edge technology to enable students to access learning in the fast-changing digital age as well as developing innovative approaches to teaching and learning. It will contribute to the regeneration of Maltby by working with many partners to help promote learning and the development of employment skills across the age range within the community.
The Academy is committed to working in partnership with all other education providers who work with children and young people within the age range 0 -19 in the area. The Learning Community will develop a continuous and progressive curriculum from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5, with a strong focus on the development of skills and competencies for learning, for personal development and for future employability.
The Learning Community will place the Academy's Business and Enterprise specialism at the heart of its work. Every opportunity will be taken to bring children and young people in contact with employers and provide life experiences to broaden their horizons and equip them with the skills and attributes they will need to communicate and apply themselves positively and effectively in life.
