Our Vision

Our broad educational vision is to create a cultural shift within the school and the local community, encouraging all those involved in it to raise their sights, widen their horizons, bring to the fore hidden talents and skills and generate new, exciting ideas through the medium of Business and Enterprise. 




Our Aims

  • Raise standards of achievement for all students in all subjects.
  • Strengthen and develop the teaching of specialist subjects and disseminate best practice;
  • Extend the range of opportunities available to students through specialist subjects, links with sponsors, businesses and other educational organisations;
  • Collaborate with partner schools to provide or facilitate high quality learning opportunities in specialist subjects;
  • Provide or facilitate high quality learning opportunities for the schools' wider community
  • Ensure work related learning is developed within a 21st century context with a clear focus on Business and Enterprise.
  • Support more students through the modern apprenticeship scheme, raising the number of students who successfully achieve qualifications within the national framework.
  • Take on a fresh identity signalling clearly to the community the school's new focus that is actively to support regeneration locally.
  • Opportunities for non-accredited and accredited qualifications for the local community learners.
  • Develop a Centre of Excellence for the specialism by enhancing local community business links to promote effective teaching and learning;
    • by expanding curricular opportunity, particularly in KS4 and vocational learning
    • by raising standards of achievement for all students across the ability and subject range, including greater challenge for the most able
    • by increasing diversity of opportunities and raising aspirations.

Within three years, both our students and those in our partner schools will not only have broadened and deepened their business and enterprise skills but those with a special talent in these areas will then be ready to fulfil their potential as the inventors, entrepreneurs and captains of industry, ensuring B&E status has a long-term effect on the school and the community which it serves.
