Bullying Advice

What is bullying?

Bullying is aggressive or insulting behaviour by an individual or group (often repeated over a period of time) which intentionally hurts or harms. 











Types of bullying

Physical bullying 

 Includes:

prodding, poking, nipping, grabbing hair, kicking, punching or slapping another person in a deliberately hurtful way.

Verbal, social or psychological bullying

Includes:

threatening behaviour, taunting or teasing, leaving a person out, calling names, spreading rumours, racist or sexist abuse towards another person.

Cyber bullying

Includes:

threatening behaviour using a mobile phone, the internet or other technologies


This is not an exhaustive list, and if a student feels they are being bullied, Maltby Academy takes it very seriously.
